Interesting question, is it not? Seems like a simple question, with a simple answer. That is, until you start talking about specifics. Admittedly, this topic is broad and has ramifications well beyond Milwaukee County politics. However, what is clear is that immoral men have proven to be poor managers of money, specifically your tax dollars. So, I present to you an article I wrote on behalf of the Constitution Party of Wisconsin. You can determine if it is relevant to our community or not.
The Constitution Party of Wisconsin (CPoW) considers morality as Job #1. If the moral order is restored to the decision making process, then sound social and fiscal decisions will follow. Most people can see the logic in this, even if it sounds too “religious” for them.
John Adams said that we must have a moral and religious people in order for our constitutional form of government to succeed.
“We have no government armed with power capable of contending with human passions unbridled by morality and religion. Avarice, ambition, revenge or gallantry would break the strongest cords of our Constitution as a whale goes through a net. Our Constitution is designed only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for any other.” – John Adams
However, what is morality? In our current culture of moral relativism, morality is “being true to one’s self.” In other words, if I believe it to be true and I am somewhat consistent in that belief, then I am being “moral,” so long as it does not hurt anyone else. Has a nice ring to it, right? Well, every murderous dictator throughout history has been “true to one’s self,” so there is a very fundamental flaw in that way of thinking.
But let’s use a different, hypothetical example: Let’s say, for instance, that I truly believe everybody should dye their hair purple. If everyone in America dyed their hair purple, we would all have something in common and be less suspicious of each other. As such, the crime rate would plummet and we would live harmonious, productive lives. Remember, I truly believe this, I have been consistent in this mind-set and it doesn’t hurt anyone. Therefore, I am being moral. Because I am a moral human being, I begin a multi-year, national campaign to implement my idea. Over time, the US Congress is convinced of the merits of my idea and passes a law: All Americans must now dye their hair purple.
Does this sound silly? Well, congress passes laws in this manner every day. Without an objective moral standard, the majority will determine what kinds of laws are passed, no matter how silly they appear.
At CPoW, we believe in the moral absolute as found in God’s Word, the Bible. Now, just to prevent confusion, we look to the King James Bible for the true Word of God. Our Founding Fathers did the same, so we must be on solid ground. It is clear that our Founding Fathers derived the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution from biblical principles. Currently, the United States has strayed far from it. We intend to bring it back on course. We will restore the moral order as found in God’s Word and restore the constitutional principles on which this country was founded. At CPoW, morality is Job #1.
On my into work today in Downtown Milwaukee today, I glanced out my window and saw none other than former Milwaukee Mayor, John O. Norquist. He was smartly dressed in an expensive, well made dark blue suit and a light-blue power tie. He was clean-shaven and well-kept. Quite, shall we say, bourgeois. Quite different from the frumpy, proletariat image he had while in Milwaukee (see photo).
He had two men with him, who were similarly dressed. This was near the Germania Building on Plankinton. They were clearly in town to give some type of presentation. My guess is that is was some kind of Marxist-inspired, Agenda 21 kind of local initiative….I’m just sayin’. I actually don’t know why he was in town. I checked JSOnline to see if they knew anything. They did not. Okay, stop laughing, I knew it was a long shot.
I’ll do some asking around to see if I find out anything. If you hear of anything, please click the “leave a comment” link of this post and let me know. Thanks!
Here is an article from JSOnline. The Board is taking a closer look as to who sits on the Pension Board, as to avoid conflicts of interest and corruption. I say, good job! Heck, I have to give credit, where credit is due. If you feel so inclined, lend some encouragement to your Milwaukee County Supervisor. You can get their contact information here.
Oh yeah, they are already here. In fact, they never left. I happened to be at Milwaukee City Hall today to pick up something and came across yet another group of people ranting about ways to get other people’s money. It was made up of public unions, the 9-5 crowd, Occupy this-that-and-the-other-thing. You know, the usual suspects. This was actually a public hearing of the Milwaukee Jobs Act Coalition. I snapped a couple of pictures, which you can see here.
At this point, my college-days journalism training kicked in and I had to find out who they were. So I went into the front table and politely asked for any literature, which they gladly obliged. You can see that here and here. What’s my point? The 150+ year history of socialism is alive and well in Milwaukee. While those on the right are busy making excuses as to why they don’t want to volunteer on a campaign or “don’t have time” for politics, our opponents are busy fanning the flames of the various recall efforts and implementing their long-term plan of eliminating capitalism. And yes, taking YOUR money.
Ah, and let’s not forget about those who live west of 124th Street who think they are safe from all that silliness in Milwaukee County. I’ve got news for you, you’re not. The lefties have already infiltrated your city councils and school boards. While you were busy at your soccer games and golf outings, the left-wingers have established a foot hold in your community. In other words, you’re next.
The good news is that all is not lost. It just requires those on the right to aquire some intestinel fortitude and get into the fight. It doesn’t mean you have to become a political hack, but it does require that you pay attention. Saddle up!
Did you know there is a contested race for Milwaukee County Comptroller? No? Well, you’re not alone. The media has done a poor job of covering any local races. So, I will step in. Please take a moment to review the candidacy of Kristie Bunting. She is very qualified and deserves your consideration. Click the hot-link and contact her directly for questions.
Why are the democrats in our state legislature opposed to union jobs? These are the family-supporting jobs that they always talk about. More importantly, why do the working-class democrats in Wisconsin keep voting for them?
